School twinning and partner tours in Ghana

Ghana-Tours-Travel offers support for school twinning and school partner groups for  Educational, Activity, Crafts and Cultural tours of Ghana. We can help organise your visit or part of your visit, the complete tour, or part of the tour.

Ghana-Tours-Travel is run by John Haigh, a UK teacher with 20 years experience in Ghana. We understand the requirements of UK schools, as well as being an experienced provider of tours in Ghana. After discussing your requirements we can work with you to develop an appropriate itinerary and costs. For all our group tours to Ghana we provide transparent costings and flat fee management to show you how your money is being spent.

Our detailed management and pre-visit preparation ensure your group has a relaxing and risk-free trip.

How we support your school visit

School trips and partner visits to Ghana require a great deal of attention to detail. They need an ability to plan, negotiate and deliver requirements in a distant country. Because of this, many schools undertake a trip to their link school but are reluctant to travel further around the country. Additional travel gives the opportunity to put the experience of your link school in the context of a broader view of Ghana, at relatively little extra cost.

Director John Haigh is now working as a UK teacher, but lived and worked in Ghana as a volunteer and has been promoting Ghana crafts and culture around the world ever since. We can create an itinerary to suit you, from four days on the coast after your school visit or a more ambitious 14 day tour of the whole country North to South.

Our group tours to Ghana will aim to broaden student understanding of Ghana life and culture.  We work with you to prepare Risk Assessments, minimise Health and Safety concerns, and provide safe and secure accommodation, transport and activities.

We will incorporate educational components focused on respect for the communities and peoples we visit.

Our aim is to deliver appropriate activities carefully managed, risk assessed and fully supervised.

If you are wondering whether Ghana is suitable for your trip you will find it ticks all the boxes.  Ghana is a friendly english speaking country in Western Africa offering a range of stunning landscapes from the rainforests of the South and West to savannah woodlands and grasslands moving North, waterfalls and mountains around lake Volta, beaches and lagoons, castles and fishing villages along the coast, and the crafts and culture of the Ashanti in Kumasi.  The Ghanaian people are friendly and hospitable who welcome visitors to the country.   The warm welcome is matched by the weather which is warm all year round with the dry season from November to April.  There is some rainfall between May and July and the rainy season is between September and October.
